Chaoshan, overseas and formerly known as Chaozhou, is a Han nationality with Chaoshan dialect as its mother tongue. It is one of the locals in Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan along the south coast of China. Chaoshan sub-nation is one of the three Han sub-nation in Guangdong. Gongfu tea, Chaozhou music, Chaozhou Zheng, Yingge dance, etc. 46 items have been included in the national intangible cultural heritage list (accounting for 1 / 4 of the total number of intangible cultural heritages in Guangdong). Chaoshan culture, which contains rich medieval relics, is praised by sinologists as "the classic cabinet of Central Plains culture". It has been an important gateway to China's Maritime Silk Road and the main channel to Taiwan since the Tang Dynasty.  it has also been known as "Linghai famous state, Nanguo county and Haibin Zou Lu" Since the Song Dynasty. There are mountains on three sides and the sea on one side. The Tropic of cancer runs through and the climate is pleasant. Although there is a rich Chaoshan Plain in the territory, it is still difficult to surviv here. There are often typhoons and earthquakes happened, fewer land but more people, the total area is 10918.5 square kilometers and the registered residence population is nearly 15 million. The meticulous and rigorous work style also gave birth to the enviable "three treasures of Chaoshan": Chaoshan girl (locally known as "Zi Niang") who can"gets the hall and the kitchen", Chaoshan crafts which are "elegant and exquisite", and Chaozhou cuisine which is known as "the most high-end cuisine in China".
